Welcome to Izzy Woolvett Designs Digital Portfolio

Hi! I'm Izzy Woolvett and I am looking for a a career in graphic design.

I’m an A level student at Peter Symonds College, Winchester. I study graphic design, textiles and business and I am achieving A*, A, B in my subjects. I am looking to do a career in graphic design. I am extremely hard working and always go the extra mile to meet the brief. I am interested in graphic design as it is a way of showing off my innovative, creative skills through design. I have good problem solving skills and I try to think out of the box which helps my work as I can think differently when creating a visual solution. I like to read articles, magazines and scroll through the internet and social media to benefit my graphic design work because it enables my work to stay current and on trend. I find creating successful ideas and bringing them to life very satisfying and fun to see how it develops.

I already have some great experience within design including work experience with a software development company called Amdaris and I have been an entrepreneur ever since I was little, selling things like homemade soap and pom-poms. More recently, I have designed and sold a Winchester themed tea towel in gift shops around Winchester. This has enabled me to gain the real world experience, like pricing strategies, deadlines and how to overcome issues. Because of this, I have been able to create commissioned pieces for many clients.

My Experience

EPLS Design

I spent the week with the design agency in January completing a brief about redesigning three beer can designs for Alfred Brewery. My idea was to modernize and improve the cans to attract new customers. After researching the company, I used the Adobe design software to develop my ideas. As an extension, I created some marketing material for the new cans and presented them in a mock up form. I then presented my designs in a presentation explaining my steps. I got some really positive feedback and some great experience and new knowledge from this.

Amdaris

In October I completed a week work experience with Amdaris in Bristol. Amdaris are a software and app development company. I worked with their design team completing a design brief about redesigning their websites homepage. I learnt a new software called Figma and created wire frames and a high definition design at the end. I also completed research and workshops doing a deep dive into UX and UI design. I really enjoyed this experience and learning more about UX and UI. This has made me even more committed to a career in graphic design. The design team loved my ideas so much they are taking some of my designs forward.

Springpod

I have completed the spring pod virtual work experience for graphic design which improved my knowledge about the job. I now understand the different roles of a graphic designer and how the job works. I also learnt more about different styles and types of design. This made me want to pursue a career in design even more.
